2016 Rule Changes This is the updated and final rule changes for 2016. General:1. We will add the scoring category of Saves plus Holds. Will remove the HR allowed category. 2. We will extend the Development Roster to 5 players. 3. We will have a new rule change policy starting next year. Nominations for rule changes will have to be posted. Either publicly or privately. If me and Hannes think its a good idea and it's worth presenting to the league we will vote on it. For the rule to pass it will have to win by 75%. All nominations have to be in by October 1st. We will have a league vote on November 1st for all rule changes if any. Roster:1. You must have at least 12 offensive players on the active MLML. This does include the DL spots. So you must pay salaries of at least 12 offensive players. If you fall below 12 by a trade or release a player(s) you will have 24 hours to make a corresponding move for the move to be processed. 2. If you drop a player during the season, you can not bid for him until the next offseason or until he gets signed by another team and then gets released again. Free Agents and Arbitration:1. On real life free agents you have until March 1st to decide if you want to take their new real life salary. 2. If you release the player you can bid for that player again. If you win the bid you will get a 20% hometown discount on the contract. 2. If the player is ranked in the top 60 overall by Yahoo, you will get a compensation pick in the 2017 new player draft at the end of the 1st round. The order of the picks will be based by regular season standings. League:
We will continue to use Yahoo for scoring. However, we will eliminate divisions. The top 8 teams will make the playoffs. #1 will play 8 and so on. There will be 3 one week rounds. Incentives:If you make the playoffs you will earn a incentive. Ifyou finish in the top 4 you will receive $2M the following year. If you finish 5-8 you will receive $1M. You will earn $1M for making the World Series. And another $2M for winning the World Series. For the Consolation Tournament you wil win $500K for making the Consolation Championship. And another $1M for winning the Consolation Championship.

Concerning the incentive cash for these categories listed above as well as the ROY, Cy Young, and MVP's for both leagues and whatever other cats we decided on early last year, which "official awarding site" will we use? I don't believe I have a shot at any of the awards, well maybe Trout for AL MVP, but I was wondering now so there's no confusion later on.

Remember, any rookie contract player is a 1 year deal. So you can drop them during the offseason with no penalty. Any contract that is in purple is eligible. If you signed a rookie as a free agent and has a league only salary that player is under contract and can not be dropped. Rookie and arbitration players can be renewed every offseason.

Question with the Roster, the 12 offensive players, do they have to be on a MLB roster or are you guys allowing teams to put MILB prospects on the MLB roster to get around this?

Question with the Roster, the 12 offensive players, do they have to be on a MLB roster or are you guys allowing teams to put MILB prospects on the MLB roster to get around this? If I remember correctly, last season a number of teams failed to get to the min with IP and yet no one mentioned anything "publicly" about those teams not meeting the min. My memory tells me a few teams who played against these "under manned" teams had no problem playing them, in fact I'm sure a few people looked forward to it because they had a better chance at getting an easy win. So what difference does it make if a team, I'll use mine as the example, has twelve hitters made up with both MLB and MILB player? Like Ken mentioned before, if the player has a salary and if that team in question has a budget for them then what difference does it make if they're prospects or MLB players? Here's another idea on this matter. I currently only have 8 "hitters" listed on my MLB and apparently you WAS has an issue with this. In time I will make the min of 12 that Hannes has enforced upon the league. I'm sure with the upcoming FA auction, the soon to be INT FA auction, and of course whatever trades take place between now and opening day teams will have their min of 12 "hitters." One last thing, I'm sure once the FA auction is completed teams will scour the waiver wire in order to pluck a few players from it to fill in whatever gaps there are on their own teams.

I didn't single you out or said I had an issue with you having 8 hitters in November. Didn't even look up any teams, it was just a question for thought so don't get all offended. Minor league players really don't have salaries until they are on the roster, well their contract years don't really start until then (not really sure how it works). The whole point of the new rule was to make sure teams were fielding a competitive team and avoid tanking for draft picks. If a team has MILB players on their roster who aren't active that is basically the same thing as having an empty roster spot, they both don't provide anything stats wise. I'm also not saying teams won't fill their rosters before the season, I asked if MILB players that are put on the MLB roster considered to be part of the minimum requirement. I feel like it is a cheap way to get around the rule to put a player that isn't even on a MLB team on the roster to get around a rule. Not to mention it is a way around the limit for prospects.

Personally, I don't understand why the minimum offensive players has to be more than we require per week. My thoughts, which I've shared with Bryan, are that the minimum should be 10. We have 10 offensive spots and should require 10 offensive players.
On a side note: What is going to be done about Zack Greinke? He is no longer under the contract he was before. Should he be considered a FA on which ever team he is on? Same goes for any other player that opted out of their contract to hit FA.

You should have to fill out your lineup with players that are actually playing in the MLB so if you have 10 MLB players you should be good.

In some instances we have to have players on our MLB roster and they are in the minors in real life. So we have to let managers put who they want in the MLB roster. Look at Kang from Pittsburgh. He may have 500 at bats by next season if he isn't already have 500 and they can send him down to the minors if he struggles if they wanted to. But he wouldn't be eligible for the Dev Roster in our league.

Stacking 19-20 year old prospects who were just drafted in real life on your MLB roster should not be allowed. If a player is over the MLB limit then obviously he would be on the MLB roster. I am talking about prospects who have never taken an MLB at bat or thrown a pitch.

Well once the season starts don't players have to be on yahoo to be on our roster, most guys on yahoo have a chance to be called up.

I would assume so but Yahoo still puts a lot of the top prospects in the database I believe but that doesn't mean they will be called up within the year.
