Week 7 Day 44
"Key match ups for week 6: Nothing really. The favorites will likely prevail."
Could I have been more wrong? Not hardly. The Underdogs had their day! The Rockies (26) grabbed their 1st W by shocking the Mariners (47), the Marlins (36) squeaked past the Rays (40.5) on the strength of ties in HR and K's and 2 SvH! But a wins a win! And finally, my BoSox (35) trounced the Dodgers (39.5). Who would have thunk it?! On the top of the heap, the Mighty Mets (61.5) extend their unbeaten streak to 6. The Powerful Padres (58) kept pace in 2nd only a game back. Tied for third, the Royals (50.5) bounced back from last weeks "L" and the still unbeaten but very kissable Gigantic Giants (48.5) took their third Sister-kiss with the White Sox (48.5) Speaking of smooches, the Orioles (44.5) laid one on the Astros (39) The Cubs bounced back with a W (50) and the Athletics (49.5) won their third in a row and coupled with the Mariners shocker put the three of them tied in fifth. Stat winners for week Six: Dingers: Royals (15) Runs: - Royals (43) RBI: - Royals (41) Steals - Padres (8) AVG - Royals (.306) Ks- Mets (61) ERA - Padres (1.27) WHIP - Padres (0.866) SVh - Royals (8) W+QS - Padres (10) Key matchups for week 7: Once beaten Powerful Padres try to hand the Gigantic Giants their first "L." Cubs/Athletics for sole possession of 5th place. Can the embarrassed Mariners get fired up and hand the Mighty Mets their first "L" and finally the winless Braves striving for their first "W" over my obviously deliriously complacent Bosox. If I had any wisdom, I'd be very wary, but I'm going to saver my 2W anyway. Wisdom is our focus for the week.

But where, or by whom, are these qualities dispensed? The wealth of knowledge and the ability to apply the knowledge is in Christ.

Christ not only possess the wisdom and knowledge, He makes the desirable gifts available to all who are united with Him in faith.

Week 7 Day 49
If therefore we are in Christ, we are in closest touch with wisdom and at the very center of understanding. And that's where we want to be and stay.

Week 8 Day 50/51
Week 7 is in the rear-view mirror. I can't remember this league being so tightly competitive that upsets are the rule not the rarity. The Mighty Mets stayed in first with the only unbeaten/unkissed team. The still without an "L" Gigantic Giants are tied for 2nd with the Really Royals a game and half back of the leader. The Powerful Padres ran into the "tired of being kissed Giants" who were tied at the end of Saturday but couldn't pucker up for a 4th time and surged on Sunday handing the Powerful Padres a squeaker loss for their their 2nd "L: of the season knocking them back into a three way tie for fifth, a game and a half back with the Athletics winners of 4 in-a-row and the White Sox who have gone 5 straight w/o an "L."
Stat winners for week Seven: Round Trips: Athletics (14) Runs: - Athletics (41) RBI: - White Sox (45) Steals - Padres again (8) AVG - Rockies (.316) Ks- Mets again (82) ERA - Padres again (1.88) WHIP - D'Backs (0.933) SVh - Athletics (9) W+QS - White Sox/Astros (9) Key matchups for week: Powerful Padres looking to shake of a squeaker loss vs the Dangerous Dodgers. Why? Just a hunch. And the Cubs who need to bounce back vs my surprising Bosox winners of two in a row for the first time in several years who quite frankly are a bit heady with their success. Yup. Success is our focus for the week.

Success means different things to different people. Yet there are basic characteristics that can be identified. First and perhaps most important is utilizing every day to the full, and not putting things off till later.

Your limitations are there to inspire you to be more, do more, than just the bare minimum.
Message Bible: Joshua 1:7-8 "Give it everything you have, heart and soul. Make sure you carry out The Revelation that Moses commanded you, every bit of it. Don't get off track, either left or right, so as to make sure you get to where you're going.
8 And don't for a minute let this Book of The Revelation be out of mind. Ponder and meditate on it day and night, making sure you practice everything written in it. Then you'll get where you're going; then you'll succeed.

Success requires hard work and dedication. There are no short-cuts. I love to hear of actors achieving success "overnight." The reality is many long years in the "trenches" receiving rejection after rejection before breaking through. If you want to get somewhere, you've got to keep going till you get there.

Week 9 Day 58
Oh, those sister-kisses! The still in 1st place Mighty Mets puckered up for their first non-win of the season when they were squeaker-tied (a single steal and .06 in ERA) by those upstart Blue Jays. Tied for 2nd the Really Royals and Gigantic Giants kept pace with wins, only a game behind. Locked in fourth place a game and 1/2 back, the scorching hot Athletics, winners of five-in-a-row and the White Sox, undefeated in six straight. The Powerful Padres are in danger of losing their adjective when they were upset by the Dangerous Dodgers. Padres have lost for the third time to drop into a tie for sixth with the Cubs who rallied over my Red Sox, who were sailing along through Thursday before completely collapsing over the weekend. Oh, the Humanity!
Stat winners for week eight: Home Runs: Royals (19) Runs: - Royals (45) RBI: - Royals (43) Steals - Mariners (10) AVG - Yankees (.307) Ks- White Sox (102) ERA - Rays (1.31) WHIP - Rays (0.813) SVh - Athletics (9) W+QS - Rays (11) Key matchups for week: The still w/o an "L" Gigantic Giants face off against those Dangerous Dodgers. The surging White Sox will be testing the Royals and the just smooched Mighty Mets will have their hands full with the Awesome Athletics if they want to stay away from the "L." Have no fear! And yes, fear is this week's theme.
