Week 2 Day 15
If you feel your case is important enough for action, you ought to lay your request before the Lord. Sincere prayer involves the surrender of yourself, your time, and your emotions on behalf of someone or something else. God will never tire of your prayers if you pray through Jesus Christ.
Message Bible: Mark 11:24 "That's why I urge you to pray for absolutely everything, ranging from small to large. Include everything as you embrace this God-life, and you'll get God's everything."

Week 2 Day 16
Fathers, you can corroborate this: A father knows what his child needs without the child having to ask. So it is with our Hevenly Father. Even without our asking He knows, and yet He longs to hear from us, as we long to hear from our own children.
Message Bible: Jeremiah 33:3 "Call to me and I will answer you. I'll tell you marvelous and wondrous things that you could never figure out on your own."

Week 2 Day 17
The Bible teaches that prayer is loving communication with God. Through prayer, we can find strength of spirit, guidance, wisdom, joy, and inner peace. But where and when? That's the beauty of our God. He listens to even our quite thoughts. We can pray anywhere and at any time. Just do it. Make it a habit.
Message Bible: Ephesians 6:18 "In the same way, prayer is essential in this ongoing warfare. Pray hard and long. Pray for your brothers and sisters. Keep your eyes open. Keep each other's spirits up so that no one falls behind or drops out."

Week 3 Day 18
Well, that was quick! Only into week three and the ranks of the undefeated have already been trimmed to two teams: The Powerful (still) Padres and the Twice Champ Cubs! That speaks well for the league balance. Going to be an interesting year! After an opening week loss these teams refused to go 0 - 2! The Athletics, Blue Jays, Rays, and Marlins. Only one sister kiss this week. Giants and Astros. 2nd week in a row for Houston. Must really like his sister. Not sure back-to-back ties have happened before? The weirdness continues! Three of last week's Sister kissers bounced back with a win last week to be two games without an "L." Royals, Dodgers, White Sox. That leaves five teams still looking for that elusive first "W." You know who you are. Squeaker of the week: White Sox over the Mets by virtue of .011 Ops and a tie in K's. Oh, the Humanity! Stat winners for week two: Dingers - Padres (15) Touching home - Padres (again) (31) RBI - Padres (48) Swipes - Mets/Yankees (9) AVG - Yankees (.332) K's- Marlins (70) ERA - White Sox (.156) WHIP - White Sox (0.936) W+QS - White Sox (11) SVh - Mets (13) Key matchups for Week 3: Cubs/Royals both w/o an "L" Braves/Yankees both without a "W" Somebody is going to be joyful! And truthfully, joy is in the little things. You may have a horrible week, but the delight of a Franchise League "W" can make you joyful! Joy! Our focus for the week, of course.
Message Bible: Philippians 4:4 "Celebrate God all day, every day. I mean, revel in him!"

Week 3 Day 19
The hallmark of a Christian's life should be the joy with which he approaches each new day.
Message Bible: Job 8:22 "God will let you laugh again; you'll raise the roof with shouts of joy!"

Week 3 Day 20
Joy. Here's the deal on joy. You can experience it even when you are sorrowful. The Apostle Paul learned the secret in being joyful in all situations through his experience of multiple hardships. How? The Holy Spirit empowered Paul to find Joy in the midst of adversity and will do the same for you. Ask the Holy Spirit for help and watch.
Message Bible: Psalm 118:24 "This is the very day God acted - let's celebrate and be festive!"

Week 3 Day 21
No matter how difficult the circumstances in which we find ourselves, we carry in our hearts the presence of God. Wherever we go He is with us. Know that and be joy filled!
Message Bible: Neimiah 8:10 "The joy of God is your strength!"

Week 3 Day 22
Our joy is based firmly on our knowledge of God's goodness. He first loved us so we might love others. This is based on our knowledge that God is in control of all things. And that all things will work out as He wills and that His will, no matter the circumstances, becomes joyful. Be truly glad. Know with certainty that there is wonderful joy ahead.
Message Bible: 1 Peter 1:5 "God is keeping careful watch over us and the future. The Day is coming when you'll have it all - life healed and whole."

Week 3 Day 23
When we walk in God's purpose for our lives, we find joy everlasting. This is a joy the rest of the world finds difficult to understand because their joy is circumstantial. When things go as they like they are joyful. When it goes south, they find despair.
Message Bible: Psalm 16:11 "Now you've got my feet on the life path, all radiant from the shining of your face. Ever since you took my hand, I'm on the right way."

Week 3 Day 24
"Joyful, joyful, we adore thee (sing along if you know the tune!) God of glory, Lord of love; Hearts unfold like flow’rs before Thee, Op’ning to the sun above. Melt the clouds of sin and sadness; Drive the dark of doubt away; Giver of immortal gladness, Fill us with the light of day!" Now that's my kind of JOY! Immortal gladness! Anytime you're down, lift up your eyes and remember where you are bound! Immortal gladness! We are here on this planet for only a nano-moment in time. Forever is for always. Be joyful about that.
Message Bible: Romans 8:38-39 "I'm absolutely convinced that nothing - nothing living or dead, angelic or demonic, today or tomorrow, high or low, thinkable or unthinkable - absolutely nothing can get between us and God's love because of the way that Jesus our Master has embraced us."

Week 4 Day 25
Three weeks into the season and we still only have two teams without an "L" or a Sister-Kiss. Last week we mistakenly reported only two teams were without "L" or a Sister-Kiss when in fact there were three teams. My apologies to the Mighty Mets who along with the Powerful Padres and Twice Champ Cubs. Please forgive. More on that later. I know you will as this week there really is only two pure teams. The Mighty Mets and the Powerful Padres. The Twice Champ Cubs slipped last week. The Royals and Giants still are w/o the dreaded "L", but they are still wiping their mouths from that sister-kiss. Last week we had five teams looking for that elusive first "W." I am happy to say three of them (Yankees, D-backs, White Sox) all grabbed their initial win. Sadly, that leaves four teams (Astros, Rockies, Cardinals and Braves) without that "smile-maker. Squeaker of the week went to the Royals over the Twice Champ Cubs by virtue of 2 Runs and a tie in SvH! Oh, the humanity! Stat winners for week three: Round-trippers - Padres...again (12) Touching home - Mets (40) RBI - Yankees (33) Steals - Athletics (11) AVG - Mets (.329) K's- Mariners (74) ERA - Red Sox (.172) WHIP - Mets (1.110) W+QS - D-backs (13) SVh - Red Sox/Yankees (9). Significant matchups this week: Giants/Rays, Mets/Orioles. Life is hard and only Jesus is perfect. The rest of us continually mess up. God forgives us. Are job is forgiving each other. And yes, forgiveness is this week's theme.
Message Bible: Isaiah 43:25 "But I, yes I, am the one who takes care of your sins - that's what I do. I don't keep a list of your sins."

Week 4 Day 25
We have become so used to the thought of God's pardon that the cost and the wonder of it tend to be forgotten.
Message Bible: Matthew 5 43-45 "You're familiar with the old written law, 'Love your friend,' and its unwritten companion, 'Hate your enemy.' 44 I'm challenging that. I'm telling you to love your enemies. Let them bring out the best in you, not the worst. When someone gives you a hard time, respond with the energies of prayer, 45 for then you are working out of your true selves, your God-created selves. This is what God does. He gives his best - the sun to warm and the rain to nourish - to everyone, regardless: the good and bad, the nice and nasty."

Week 4 Day 26
That God that we have so consistently offended in thought, word and deed should forgive us at all is beyond our comprehension. We are glad for it, but there is a catch. We have to be like minded to others.
Message Bible: Matthew 6: 14-15 "In prayer there is a connection between what God does and what you do. You can't get forgiveness from God, for instance, without also forgiving others. 15 If you refuse to do your part, you cut yourself off from God's part."

Week 4 Day 27
And when you factor in how His moral nature demands that He not pass lightly over our continual rebellious acts and attitude, and yet He saves us anyway by the substitution of His Son to bear the due punishment for our sins. Where would we be without His forgiveness. Lost forever is where.
Message Bible: Psalm 32:1-2 "Count yourself lucky, how happy you must be - you get a fresh start, your slate's wiped clean. 2 Count yourself lucky - God holds nothing against you and you're holding nothing back from him."

Week 4 Day 28
God has not only forgiven us but does it with a generosity that is so attractive and exalting or only response can be to worship and adore Him.
Message Bible: Psalm 86:5 "You're well-known as good and forgiving, bighearted to all who ask for help."
