Day 44 Week 6
Love and service are the nutrients of a strong faith. If they are absent, your faith wanes and fails in the function which it should fulfil.
Message Bible: Romans 10:17 "The point is, Before you trust, you have to listen. But unless Christ's Word is preached, there's nothing to listen to."

Day 45 Week 6
If you desire to have a stronger faith, you must love God wholeheartedly and serve Him with greater enthusiasm.
Message Bible: Mark 9:23 "Jesus said, "If? There are no 'ifs' among believers. Anything can happen."

Day 46 Week 6
The theme for the week was Faith, but the theme for the day is mothers. We had one. I miss mine, hugely. If you still have yours, cherish everyday. And yes, they can be annoying, frustrating, even infuriating at times, but never lose sight of the love that brought you into the world. Love them, not just on "Mother's Day" but everyday.
Message Bible: Isiaha 66:13 "As a mother comforts her child, so I'll comfort you. You will be comforted in Jerusalem."

Day 47 Week 7
And then there were only two teams with perfect records. The Mets (66) and the Cubs (58.5) both remained undefeated at 6 - 0. The Mets had their way with the winless Braves (27.5) while the Cubs put some WD/40 on the Giants (44.5) "squeaker" win streak, handing them their first "L" and pushing them into a three-way tie for third place with the Padres (63) who won their 4th in-a-row and the Astros (52.5). The White Sox (55) grabbed sole possession of sixth place with their 3rd W in-a-row. Tied for 7th: the Royals (50) winning and the Cards (49) losing to the Yankees (49) who were hot on their heels only a half-game back in ninth with their 3rd in a row w/o a "L." The Mariners (43.5) are alone in 10th sending my hapless Bosox (24) to their third "L" in a row. Squeaker of the week went to the Royals who got by the Blue Jays with 1 R and a .15 in Whip. OTH. Stat leaders for week 5: Home runs - White Sox (13) Runs - Mariners (41) Knock-em-ins - Padres (47) Steals - Cards (7) AVG - Mariners (.316) Wiff's- "Ks" - Mets (100) ERA - Padres (2.54) WHIP - Padres (0.873) W+QS - Cards/Mets/Mariners (13) SVh - Mets (9). Another week with the winless remaining winless. Key matchups for week 7: Giants/Astros (Can the Giants rebound?), Yankees/Mariners with identical 3-2-1 records, the winless Braves/Rockies. Somebody is getting their first"W!" And of course the long awaited Cubs/Red Sox. Just what I needed to turn around a three-game skid. NOT. It's a good thing I love this game, cause it can be frustrating at times. Love or Frustration? Let's go with Love for this week's theme.
Message Bible: Luke 10:27 "He said, "That you love the Lord your God with all your passion and prayer and muscle and intelligence - and that you love your neighbor as well as you do yourself."

Day 48 Week 7
People are particularly interesting creations. His design is so unique for each one of us that life with each other is never monotonous. It is an irrefutable fact that your attitude toward people will determine their attitude toward you.
Message Bible: 1 Thessalonians 4:9 "Regarding life together and getting along with each other, you don't need me to tell you what to do. You're God-taught in these matters. Just love one another!"

Day 49 Week 7
If you are constantly criticizing your fellow man, you erect a barrier that the spirit of friendship finds hard to overcome. If you regard others with contempt, you will soon taste the bitter fruit of loneliness.
Message Bible: 1 John 4:7-8 "My beloved friends, let us continue to love each other since love comes from God. Everyone who loves is born of God and experiences a relationship with God. 8 The person who refuses to love doesn't know the first thing about God, because God is love - so you can't know Him if you don't love."

Day 50 Week 7
The most constructive way to live is simply to love people. Bitterness vanishes, shyness is overcome, and inferiority is replaced with self-confidence.
Message Bible: 1 John 2:10 "It's the person who loves brother and sister who dwells in God's light and doesn't block the light from others."

Day 51 Week 7
The voluntary giving of your love not only enriches your own life but will draw people to you who will enhance your quality of life. Love begets love!
Message Bible: 1 John 3:18 "My dear children, let's not just talk about love; let's practice real love."

Day 52 Week 7
The reason and motive of our salvation lies in the loving nature of God. It is not a case of our loving God but of His loving us and giving His Son for our redemption.
Message Bible: 1 John 3:1 "What marvelous love the Father has extended to us! Just look at it - we're called children of God! That's who we really are. But that's also why the world doesn't recognize us or take us seriously, because it has no idea who He is or what He's up to."

Day 53 Week 7
In His love He delivered us from both the power and guilt of our sins and from the eternal judgement to which we were hastening. With His strong chords of love He drew us out and then He washed us shiny clean and set us on our way.
Message Bible: Romans 8:38-39 "I'm absolutely convinced that nothing - nothing living or dead, angelic or demonic, today or tomorrow, 39 high or low, thinkable or unthinkable - absolutely nothing can get between us and God's love because of the way that Jesus our Master has embraced us."

Day 54 Week 8
The Perfect Duo moved their records to 7 - 0. The Mighty Mets (76) easily handled the Rays (45.5) and even though my Bosox (28) made the Cubs (68.5) sweat early in the week, they decided to take the weekend off and the Cubs cruised to an easy "W." The 5-in-a-row Padres (74) are starting to resemble the "Powerful Padres" from last year. They share third place with the Giants (54) who bounced back from last weeks "L" with a convincing "W" over the Astros (57) knocking them out of third place and into a tie for 6th with the Cardinals (57). Alone in 5th are the White Sox (54) who won their 4th straight. Beware the Pale Hose. The Mariners (51.5) grabbed the #9 slot, leaving 10th to be shared by the Athletics (58) who won and the Royals (53) who lost. Congrats to the Rockies (32) for winning their 1st of the year. No need to remind the rest of the bottom dwellers that they didn't win again. OTH! Squeaker of the Week Cards over the Jays who had plenty of bats and feet but couldn't make their Innings Pitched minimum. OTH! Stat leaders for week 7: Home runs - White Sox, again (15) Runs - Giants (44) RBIs - White Sox (41) Swipes - Jays (10) AVG - Jays (.303) "Ks" - Yankees (85) ERA - Cubs (2.53) WHIP - Cubs (1.012) W+QS - Mariners, again (11) SVh - Yankees/Padres - (9) Key matchups for week 8: Giants/White Sox? Are the Pale hose for real. Royals/Cardinals. Things are heating up as we head into the summer. Ya gotta love it. We did love last week, and to be honest, ya can never have enough love. LOVE 2 for this weeks focus.
Message Bible: Deuteronomy 7:9 "Know this: God, your God, is God indeed, a God you can depend upon. He keeps his covenant of loyal love with those who love him and observe his commandments for a thousand generations."

Day 55 Week 8
It is easy to love someone who has been good to you - and God has been than the best toward us. He has saved us, and protected us, and provided for our every need.
Message Bible: Proverbs 8:17 "I love those who love me; those who look for me find me."

Day 56 Week 8
God's love for us is an extravagant love, one that gives all He has and all He is. He demonstrated His love by sending His Son to die for us, that we might be saved.
Message Bible: John 3:16 "This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life."

Day 57 Week 8
This extravagant love needs to be returned in kind, passionate and heartfelt. We should love God from the depth of our emotions, with every thought we think, every action we take.
Message Bible: Deuteronomy 11: 13-14 "From now on if you listen obediently to the commandments that I am commanding you today, love God, your God, and serve him with everything you have within you, 14 he'll take charge of sending the rain at the right time, both autumn and spring rains, so that you'll be able to harvest your grain, your grapes, your olives."

Day 58 Week 8
And how do we show this love for God? Simple. Trust and obey. Trust He is our loving God and obey his teachings. Easier said than done, but with awareness of His unending love as a model, we can, over time, get better at it. We must remember, becoming more and more like Jesus, isn't a light switch, but a process. A journey.
Message Bible: John 14:23 "Because a loveless world," said Jesus, "Is a sightless world. If anyone loves Me, he will carefully keep My word and My Father will love him - We'll move right into the neighborhood!"
