Day 15 Week 2
Faith is not knowing what the future holds but who holds the future. And HOPE is faith holding out its hand into the darkness.
Message Bible: Hebrews 6:19 "Hope. It's an unbreakable spiritual lifeline, reaching past all appearances right to the very presence of God."

Day 16 Week 2
In the Tate gallery in London is a striking painting by Frederick Watts entitled "Hope." A beautiful woman is sitting, blindfolded, on top of a world globe and in her hand is a lute. All but one of the strings is broken. She touches the one string and leans forward to catch the sound. She is filled with hope...believing the best in the worst of circumstances. Always know: the best is still to come.
Message Bible: 1 Peter 1:13 "So roll up your sleeves, put your mind in gear, be totally ready to receive the gift that's coming when Jesus arrives."

Day 17 Week 2
Where Christian hope exists, no night can be completely dark, no loneliness is without comfort, and no fear overwhelming.
Message Bible: 1 Timothy 4:10 "This is why we've thrown ourselves into this venture so totally. We're banking on the living God, Savior of all men and women, especially believers."

Day 18 Week 2
Christian hope is based on God's omnipotence. It is faith fills a heart with joy even when it is on the verge of breaking. Hope gives us an invincible spirit and the strength to carry on.
Message Bible: Isiah 40:29-31 "He energizes those who get tired, gives fresh strength to dropouts. 30 For even young people tire and drop out, young folk in their prime stumble and fall. 31 But those who wait upon God get fresh strength. They spread their wings and soar like eagles, they run and don't get tired, they walk and don't lag behind.

Day 19 Week 3
Well there's another week we can't get back and only 17 more weeks to go until the playoffs begin on August 21. Of the nine teams tied for first with perfect records, that number has been shaved to six. Tied for first place in order of Points For (PF) Royals (23), Mets (21.5), Cards (19), Cubs (18.5), Astros (15.5) The White Sox (20) slipped to seventh place when the Marlins (13.5) smacked them with the season's second "sister kiss." Grabbing their first sweet "W" of the season were the Rays (17), Yankees and the Athletics (16.5). Everybody else took the big "L" and you know who you are. And I am 100% certain they are all planning on rebounding in week three. Squeakers of the week: The Giants over the Jays by a single SB and the Cubs over the Braves but .037 OPS. O.T.H.! Stat leaders for week 2: Round trippers - Rays (14) Touch the plate - Cards (45) RBI - Cards (46) SB - A log jam with six teams at (7) AVG - Jays (.300) K's- Mets (75) ERA - Cubs (1.93) WHIP - White Sox (0.880) W+QS - White Sox (10) SVh - Cubs (14) Key matchups this week: Royals/Giants. Both plan on staying unbeaten. Somebody will be pouting come next Monday. I'm a little concerned about my Bosox and their missing bats. You would think they would remember to take them to the plate with them. I mean, they're professionals, right? 11 starters below or barely above the Mendoza line? Seriously? I'm just going to have to be patient and hope those Louisville's get delivered this week. Patience is something we all need and is my segue to this weeks theme. Patience.
Message Bible: Psalm 37:7 "Quiet down before God, be prayerful before him. Don't bother with those who climb the ladder, who elbow their way to the top."

Day 20 Week 3
Patience: the capacity to accept or tolerate delay, trouble, or suffering without getting angry or upset. It requires discipline and patience to accept God's will, to trust Him unconditionally and to submit to His will for the good of your life.
Message Bible: Hebrews 10:36 "But you need to stick it out, staying with God's plan so you'll be there for the promised completion."

Day 21 Week 3
Impatience and impulsiveness are often the reasons for hasty decisions we come to regret. We've all done it. Jumped before we looked. Doing things we just didn't think through. Slow down. Here is an indisputable law you need to keep in mind: The hurried-er you go, the behind-er you get.
Message Bible: Romans 8:25 "But the longer we wait, the larger we become, and the more joyful our expectancy."

Day 22 Week 3
Many people feel the need to make snap decisions based on their gut instinct. They make rash decisions and do not lay these matters before the Lord. They cannot escape the tension and worry that inevitably follow.
Message Bible: James 1:2-4 "Consider it a sheer gift, friends, when tests and challenges come at you from all sides. 3 You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colors. 4 So don't try to get out of anything prematurely. Let it do its work so you become mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way."

Day 23 Week 3
Jesus should be our example (in so many ways) of One who, in spite of a busy life, put His trust totally in God the Father and waited on Him before He made any decisions, or carried out any of His plans.
Message Bible: Colossians 3: 12-14 "So, chosen by God for this new life of love, dress in the wardrobe God picked out for you: compassion, kindness, humility, quiet strength, discipline. 13 Be even-tempered, content with second place, quick to forgive an offense. Forgive as quickly and completely as the Master forgave you. 14 And regardless of what else you put on, wear love. It's your basic, all-purpose garment. Never be without it.

Day 24 Week 3
Something to keep in mind: God's timing is always perfect. Always. Only when we insist on the timing to be what we want it to be do we get into difficulties. He knows what He's doing and His ways are higher than our ways. Believe it. Relax. Trust.
Message Bible: Lamentations 3:26 "It's a good thing to quietly hope, quietly wait for help from God."

Day 25 Week 3
Week three comes to a close and so will our focus on patience. I hope you have been patient with it. There is one more thing to say about patience. Patience is neither purchased nor given. You cannot go to a patience store. Patience is earned, one aggravating thing at a time. When you get to those aggravating moments in your life: breathe. In with the good air, out with the bad and say to yourself, "This too will pass." And it will. And you will be better for it because you will have added to your store house of patience. This week's verse bears repeating. In fact, it should be on your lips every day.
Message Bible: Philippians 4:6-7 1 "Don't fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. 7 Before you know it, a sense of God's wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It's wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.

The six teams that had perfect records was trimmed to five as the Giants edged the Royals with the "squeaker of the week" by a single SB. Other first-time winners were: The Diamondbacks (19) and my Bosox (12.5) I had the bats FedExed! The rest of the league is still yearning for their first "W!" Maybe this is your week! Stat leaders for week 3: Out-of-heres - Mets/Athletics (13) Runs - Mets (45) RBI - Athletics (40) Swipes - Mets (10) AVG - Athletics (.310) K's- Orioles (72) ERA - Cubs (2.06) WHIP - Astros (0.991) W+QS - Mets (13) SVh - Yankees/Rockies (11) Key matchups this week: Giants will attempt to undefeated and steal another this time from the undefeated Cardinals. Another unhappy manager next week for sure as the "perfectos" continue to dwindle. Will there be any surprises? I'll be surprised if my Bosox can get past the POed Royals, that's for sure. Sometimes you just have to have keep grinding. Perseverance always wins out! And there you have our focus for week four. Perseverance.
Message Bible: Galatians 6:9 "So let's not allow ourselves to get fatigued doing good. At the right time we will harvest a good crop if we don't give up or quit."

Day 27 Week 4
Just as a good fantasy manager has to prepare and be aware of changing circumstances to achieve their goal which is winning, the Christian should commit themselves to attaining the high standards set by Christ to achieve their goal which is the Kingdom of Heaven.
Message Bible: Hebrews 3:14 "If we can only keep our grip on the sure thing we started out with, we're in this with Christ for the long haul." '

Day 28 Week 4
As a Christian you are assured of the reward you will receive from your heavenly Father for your commitment and faithfulness: the crown of eternal life.
Message Bible: Ephesians 6: 14-18 "Truth, righteousness, 15 peace, 16 faith, 17 and salvation are more than words. Learn how to apply them. You'll need them throughout your life. God's Word is an indispensable weapon. 18 In the same way, prayer is essential in this ongoing warfare. Pray hard and long. Pray for your brothers and sisters. Keep your eyes open. Keep each other's spirits up so that no one falls behind or drops out."

Day 29 Week 4
So hold steadfastly to your faith and do not give up!
Message Bible: 1 Peter 5: 8-10 "Keep a cool head. Stay alert. The Devil is poised to pounce, and would like nothing better than to catch you napping. 9 Keep your guard up. You're not the only ones plunged into these hard times. It's the same with Christians all over the world. So keep a firm grip on the faith. 10 The suffering won't last forever. It won't be long before this generous God who has great plans for us in Christ - eternal and glorious plans they are! - will have you put together and on your feet for good."
