The White Sox made a suggestion for 2018 concerning the DL. I think it is a good idea. Why do we have a limit on DL? It is not OUR fault that players get hurt. If we have 9 guys on our DL why can't we replace them? In real life, teams do not have a limit on DL players. The Dodgers don't tell their pitchers, hey we can't put you on the DL we have too many right now.
Another reason is what happens if you have 8 players on the DL on your team? You can only put 4 on the DL and have to keep the other players on your MLB roster. Assuming you do not want to drop any of them. What happens if those 3 are pitchers on your team? You are not able to make room to add or promote another pitcher to help you reach your weekly IP. Another benefit is the strategy that it will take. You might have 8-10 players on the DL and if you replace them, you have to eventually make moves to activate the players later on. Leading to more possible trades.
It is not like we are adding roster spots to benefit one team. Nobody can control the injuries in baseball and why should we have a limit on them?

I agree with you. You might want to look t Yahoo settings and see what the limit is for DL players. Another issue is cash management. If you have 25 rostered players along with 5-9 guys on the DL you'll need to cover that salary as well.

Well that is another part of the strategy that goes with it. I'm pretty sure Yahoo lets us set the maximum up to as many as we want.

I agree with the Anti "Short-Term" thinking (Thank You Cubbies). Eventually you have to replace. Is there any way to have a DL for the 60DL guys that circumvents the 10 day DL?

I guess we could but what could we do with that? I guess what advantage would that be?

None. Reality is this: At the end of the year (In real life), "All" players must be removed from the DL and placed on the "Active" roster. In this league, that does not happen. What does this league want?

You all can check it out for yourselves... 5 days after the World Series ends, there is no DL until 5 days before "Opening Day". The rules here are very liberal, and benefit the owners... I'm only bringing this up as a "Guideline", so that we do not stray too far from reality...

Not to sound like an ass here, and it's been awhile, but I was told a long time ago in this league that it's "Fantasy Baseball." You see back in the day someone wanted to have this league similar to real life and when I mentioned real life teams only have one SP throw per day and not two DHs, in our case UTL, I was told this is "Fantasy Baseball." I do agree with TEX about the real life rosters are adjusted 5 days after the WS, however a lot of us have grown accustomed to carrying extra injured players during the off season.

Well we were always lenient and if a player ended the season on the DL we would let them keep them there cause there is no guarantee he will be ready for opening day. But I also don't want owners to take advantage of it and stash players on the DL during the offseason.

Yeah, I don't want to "stir the pot", but reality is reality, and it should be revieved from time to time...

I'm just seeing if people would be interested in doing a no limit on DL spots.

I wouldn't mind looking at limiting the number of DL spots in the offseason perhaps.

In season, no problem... I have an issue with "Phantom DL" in the off-season

I am good with no DL limit. If Yahoo doesn't allow unlimited we can always just keep track on the spreadsheet
