Congrats to the AL and NL Division Winners!
In this years World Series we have the Oakland Athletics winning the American League and the San Fran Giants Winning the National League.
So lets recap how they got here.
Oakland finishes the season with the best overall record 18-2
Soto, Alonso, Altuve, Devers all finish the year with 260+ Total bases.
Oakland had some great early round picks in last years draft that really shined for him in this years play.
Paul Skenes and Yamamoto added 198 Innings for Oak with k/9 rates above 10 per 9, adding 37 W+QS
Wyatt Langford is only 1 point above replacement, but he is adjusting to big league play at a normal rate.
He has Kyle Tucker back from Injury and the only weakness he has is at the short stop position. But with names like Soto, Alonso, and Devers... They do more then make up for the weak play from Brooks Lee and Kyle Farmer.
Also to add to that he has a stacked Pitching Rotation of Skenes, Kirby, Sonny Gray, Severino. Robert Suarez being his main closer.
Oakland has a ton of All-Star caliber players that have carried his team this far.
The San Fran Giants finishes the season with a record of 14-3-3
The Giants were mostly carried by the best Bullpen in our league led by Emanuel Clase. 191 SVH as a team at the end of the season.
His positional Players are led by Freddie Freeman and Manny Machado. Gunnar Henderson, Kyle Schwarber and Matt Olsen help him round out his line up as well.
Both teams are built very evenly and this might be a very close World Series Match up. Oakland and San Fran have very similar builds, They finished 1st and 2nd or 2nd and 3rd; one right in front of each other through out majority of their category strengths. Oakland finished just in front of SF in more categories though. giving Oakland the favorite to win the World Series.
