We currently have a normal injured list where any player on your roster is eligible for if Fantrax labels them as injured. We also have the long term IR for tommy john long term injury type guys. Currently ALL of these players count towards your CAP.
I propose we either make a separate minors IL list or simply do not include the minor league salaries underneath the Injured List/Long Term IR tables. The players that would be eligible are those that are still under our already estabilished MILB limits (200 abs/100 ip).
Ex) I've had Andrew Painter on my long term IL all year but he's counting 500k towards my MLB cap...he hasn't even thrown a MLB inning yet so his pre-arb years haven't even started to count yet in real life.
This would free up money for the present season and allow you to have 35 "active" milb guys. Also, by freeing up 500k here and there that will allow more people the luxury of scooping up cheap auction guys to fill spots cause by temp injuries as there aren't big franchise guys in the free agent pool mid-season anyways.
A current workaround would be to simply place your injured guy back in the MILB
In regards to Fantrax, sometimes they give the MILB guys the "injured list" icon and sometimes they don't.
This would be proposed towards next season and not the current season

I like that idea. I thought that was kind of dumb if we have to pay for a guy just to have him on the IR. Like I had Jasson Dominguez on the IL when he was in the minors. The only issue and would make more work for the commish is Fantrax won't let us put them in IR if they are in the minors. You had to manually put Dominguez in the IR for me.
