Current rule conflicts itself...I assume fantrax was setup initially to reflect traditional trade deadline for that specific year but when we double up the all star week (2 week scoring period) it's going to move the 5.7 trade deadline date around each year I believe. I would propose we remove 5.7 right away and then solidify a specific deadline date that would apply to 2025. Myself and Padres are both newer to Fantrax commish mode.
Royals suggested we move it back a week or two so we could then make moves based on real life trades (closer for the white sox becoming a setup guy for the dodgers for example)...
Mariners prefers we have the same deadline as MLB
I'm probably not caring too much either way. I'd probably lean towards just keeping it the way it is (same as mlb deadline) but i'm not passionate about it. I think the forum was probably the most engaged it has been as a whole all season for the two week period leading up to the deadline...However, I could def have used the extra time to trade for a shortstop this season.
The rules say...
TRADES
5.1. Trading is allowed (in-season as well as off-season), with the only exceptions being that, after traditional trade deadline (2nd August 2015) and for a two week period after the season ends (Check Rule 2.6.)
5.7. Trade deadline for the season is based on Fantrax yearly trade deadline. And 2 weeks after the season is over and proboards is updated trading is allowed again.
And the last ticker before I updated it Bryan (previous commish) had the deadline of July 31st which was prob real life deadline of whatever year it was
