I don't get it. How do you start adding/changing categories after teams have already been built to compete in the categories originally designed? What, because 15 teams couldn't figure it out in the beginning? So, if your changes go thru, now I have to break down my team, and re-design it in order to compete. Let's not do this every year, because people will get tired of it and just quit. First of all, me and Bryan said at the beginning of this year that we will oversee and observe how the league is working and than adjust to improve the league. We aren't going to change things yearly. But a league like this asks managers and league officials to be critical and improve were it needs to be improved. The plan all along was to adress some issues that came up after season 1, change them and then then stick to them. And I think that is the way to go.

Yeah, sure, but you are going to penalize teams for building an advantage. I committed a lot of players and money to build my team within the rules, and now, because "teams" fell "asleep" somewhere along the ride, myself, and others, get penalized for "Bad Team Management by lackadasical managers". Really? So, I simply wasted all my effort, money, players, in the past 2-3 weeks with the now, "Stupid looking Trades", to acquire "Closers"?

no , closers will actually have more value now cuz they would get saves and net save holds where as relief guys would only get net save holds . so actually all the trades u made to get closers would not only be not stupid , but actually pretty brilliant , ,,,,, and i actually asked about this in February when i took over the team and was told that it would be something to consider for next year , that is all we r doing is considering , i don't appreciate being called lackadaisical when in fact this whole year i made moves to my team in hopes that other managers would see how adding this stat would enhance the league , after all once again the intent to run this league as close to real life as possible was stated numerous times throughout the year and holds is a legitimate real-life stat actually adds value to the player pool enhancing the league and challenging managers to have to sign other players , and i hope u notice that not once have i put any one on blast because they don't see it my way in these posts , just because we disagree doesn't mean i need to stoop to insults , i respect the opinions of everyone whether they are in line with me or not , and if no changes r made thats fine too , sooooo Texas , take breath man , i get it u dont like it and i respect that!1

Adding net saves and holds category is not changing the league so much that teams will have to totally rebuild. It's not like we are taking saves out completely and all of a sudden closers are worthless. There are 20 teams the league is so deep every team has RP that can get holds. It will make Drew Storen type guys worth keeping since he got booted from the closer role. Closers are actually going to be more valuable now.

I am voting no for now, but I do think we should put this change into effect after next season (It should go into effect in 2017). This will reduce the penalties associated with players that have worked to accumulate Closers.
Also, if we go forward with this change, I think we should drop the HR Allowed stats and replace that with Holds+Saves, with no new hitting stat.
Another point, should we consider reducing the number of RP-eligible roster spots, from 7 to 4 (or maybe 5). That will force teams to make roster decision regarding how they put together their bullpen.

Now cutting down the number of starting positions would greatly change everything too much. People built their teams and that would hurt too much. If we add holds we are not penalizing teams with closers. Adding holds would not change any strategy that was already in place. It would actually in a way make closers more enticing to trade if anything cause they will help in 2 categories. Just like a home run hitter helping in multi categories with runs and RBI. How good of a team would a manager be if he has 2 closers and has 3 set up men. They would be consistently winning those 2 categories.

We can't change the RP eligible spots, how does that make sense? Make more guys useful but take away spots they can actually be used? Same logic as we are forced to play as many offensive players but the idea of adding Ks for batters, how would that make sense?

That would have to be discussed later on once we decide this. Either to add a offensive category or replace home runs allowed.

I don't know what Hannes thinks but I would suggest replace the Home runs allowed with the Holds+Saves category like a few people mentioned. That way there would be no negative stars and the categories would be even between offense and offense.

OK, I don't want to beat this to death, but...
1) There are potentially 90 "Plus" Holds guys, and 30 Closers 2) Closers will cost a lot more against the "CAP" than a HOLDS guy
Shouldn't there be a "Premium" for SAVES versus HOLDS?

That's why the saves are getting counted twice.

maybe those of us that took over teams and couldn't build a stable of closers shouldn't be penalized either , how bout instead of adding saves/holds we add blown saves.... that way those of us without a bunch of closers don't need to worry about the stat change!!! LMFAO!!!
