Minnesota trades King Felix, 24M cash in 2015 and 10M cash in 2016
for
Miami trades a 1st round pick (MIA), and three 2nd round picks (OAK, SD, HOU)
Mike approached me with a starting offer this afternoon and after a few emails we had the above arrangement.
My idea here is simple, I am building my farm team while shedding future salary. Some might question the cash portion of this deal but I see it as a swing of 31M coming back to me. Miami is paying 15M next year which saves me 10M plus I received 21M in a prior trade involving King Felix. So for me I am now under budget by 73M for 2016.
