I know someone added, then immediately dropped Schanuel this past year. I know, because they'd dropped him before I made a post telling them they should, so clearly they were miles ahead of me. But it got me thinking. Literally every other active player is available to us, except guys in that years draft. Since it's never going to be a large number of guys that make their debut in their draft year, it shouldn't be a big deal to make some kind of exception for them. If a guy can help you now, why should you miss out because of his draft year? I dunno if first come first serve is the play or allowing them to be bid on, or what the best idea is. I do think they should be in play though since they clearly are in real life.
Like 99.9% of all my suggestions, not a big deal either way, just something I was thinking about with the draft coming up next month.

whats to stop just whoever has the most cap flow at the time they become available to get paul skenes/yomamoto/crewes/langford/clark/etc?
Draft is one of the more fun aspects of the league imo

Draft is one of the more fun aspects of the league imo Think KC was referring to the rare cases where a guy makes their MLB debut the same year they get drafted like Schanuel last season on the Angels. I think the current system is fine the way it is, mainly because it would essentially give teams a chance for an extra first round pick if they were able to pick up a guy like Schanuel in season.. What would be stopping a team like me last season who had extra cap from outbidding everyone and essentially getting a first round pick talent despite not even owning a 2024 first round pick?

That's my point. I'm pretty sure Langford was on the cusp of getting the call at the tail end of last year. Prob if Carter doesn't workout then Langford is called up and essentially whoever has money at the end of the year gets a free top 4 pick

I like keeping it to draft year. If they get called up before the draft, It's just free information to take into the draft. You are seeing him play at the MLB level compared to AAA, AA, and rookie ball. We should continue to implement the rule that players can't be rostered until they have been drafted into the league for their draft class. Schanuel shouldn't have been able to be added and that is why they ultimately dropped.
