So it has been awhile since I've done a write up of the leage so what better time then after the wild card round...
The San Diego Padres, New York Mets, Oakland Athletics, New York Yankees all won their divisions So lets do a mini deep dive of their seasons.
THE NEW YORK METS!!!! this team is on fire. They are the power ranked overall favorite to win it all. (Also Edwin Diaz is rumored to try to come back for the end of the season)
The San Diego Padres ... Elly,Ramirez,Alvarez,Adolis,Perez... *Blink* *Blink*... That is just disgusting and dangerous...
The Oakland Athletics... A very well managed team and one of the most dangerous pitching in the playoffs.
The New York Yankees... Riding an easy division throughout the season made his move at the trade deadline and aquired Aaron Judge and Elias Diaz to pad his Catcher position instead of juggling boston catchers. Something to take note... 131 TB last week... only team with more TB was the Cardinals and unfortunately they were knocked out by the D-Backs. I am totally hoping this trade can carry me into the World Series... Next week will be a hard match up against the winner of KC/OAK... If I continue to beat CWS.
Our wildcard winning teams of SF and Cubs have hard match ups but are fairing better then CWS and KC.
At this moment the Giants are tied with the Mets 7to7 and I am secretly rooting for the Giants this week (Mets you are on FIRE)
I might be mistaken but next weeks match up currently look like for the main bracket...
OAK/KC VS NYY
SD vs NYM/SF
Weeks highlights to watch
*Thursday seems to be a Travel day with a very slim amount of games going.*
(NYY@Det ATL@LAD MIA@Wash SF@SD seem to be the only games running)
Spencer Strider @ LAD and Brandon Woodruff @ CHC starts for the Kansas City Royals tomorrow. (KC is currently behind OAK and these are 2 difficult matchups for the KC starters)
Oakland starters for Saturday overall it is going to be some difficult matchups they face and expected earned runs.
Hunter Brown vs NYY The Yankees have not been great at all and Hunter Brown has flashes of some stunning stuff.
This match up effects the SF and NYY teams the most this playoff week.
Kevin Gausman @ COl / Alex Cobb @sd / Justin Steele @ Cin / Zac Gallen Home vs the Orioles are the NYM pitchers starting on Sunday...
5 days to go though and a lot can happen.
Playoff key notes
Yankees lost Joe Musgrove and Starling Marte to IL for remainder of Playoffs
Cubs Shohei Ohtani has a torn UCL and is no longer pitching for him in the playoffs (Pitchers all hit IL at wrong time and his remaining pitching has really difficult matchups this week)
SF lost Nestor Cortez to il
NYM Edwin Diaz has potential of returning for end of year and even further surmounting his power rank.
I probably overlooked a bunch of stuff, but I tried to keep it entertaining and as brutally honest as possible.
I move on Sept 8th and am heading to Colorado. Hopefully I am availble to do another write up folowing the results of this week.
