2023 Playoffs

And just like that, another successful season is in the books.  Congratulations to the Mets, Padres, Athletics, and Yankees for winning their divisions.  Congratulations to the Cubs, Giants, Cardinals, Diamondbacks, Mariners, White Sox, Astros, and Royals for making the playoffs.

The division winners get a first week bye.  The Cubs will play the Diamondbacks, Giants will play the Cardinals, White Sox will play the Mariners, and Royals will play the Astros for the wildcard round.   

This year, we are going to have a consolation tournament for the non-playoff teams.  The winner of that tournament will receive $1M in their 2024 budget.  So please keep playing!

10.3 Incentives

There will be incentives if you make the playoffs or have a player that wins a reward. The money will be awarded the following year only.

- Win the division: $2,000,000
- Win the wild card: $1,000,000
- Win AL or NL Championship: $2,000,000
- Win World Series: $2,000,000
- Have AL or NL MVP: $1,000,000
- Have AL or NL Cy Young: $1,000,000
- Have AL or NL Rookie of the Year: $2,000,000
- Each category win during the regular season: $15,000

This is why I was trying to narrow it down to 8 teams earlier on.

3 New York Mets
4 Oakland Athletics
5 Chicago Cubs
6 Kansas City Royals
7 San Francisco Giants
8 Chicago White Sox

As you can see, 4 NL, and 4 AL.

It has San Diego Padres winning the NL West, NY Mets winning the NL East, Oakland Athletics winning the AL West, and NY Yankees winning the AL East.

That means it has Chicago Cubs, Kansas City Royals, San Fransisco Giants, and the Chicago White Sox winning the Wildcards, based on record.


The St. Louis Cardinals are my bubble team.

I feel pretty comfortable saying the Cubs and Royals should be in the playoff picture. I have the feeling the Giants, White Sox,and St. Louis Cardinals are going to be the contenders for 2 remaining playoff spots.
