Day 72 Week 10
We love Him and walk in His purpose for our lives. It is a joy the world finds difficult to understand, because their joy is circumstantial. It is impossible for us to despair when we remember our Helper is omnipotent.
Message Bible: Nehemiah 8:10 "The joy of God is your strength!"

Please keep my wife in your prayers. We were vacationing in Deerfield Beach, FL and my wife got admitted to the hospital down here. The 2nd day we were here she had severe pain in her lower abdomen and they said it is diverticulitis. Luckily, my parents and sister came too so they can help me take care of our 3 year old since it is just me and him. They watch him while I visit her since he can’t go in the hospital. But everyone is leaving tomorrow so I’m staying here. If her white blood cell levels go down she can be discharged tomorrow and we’ll drive back to Illinois on Monday. What a vacation.

Lifting you and your wife and son up even as I type this. I know exactly what she's going through as I had it in my 40's. Not at all fun, but she'll get through this and so will you. This above all else. Keep breathing. Out with the bad air, in with the good. Seems obvious but in extreme stress situations, people hold their breath. Don't. Focus on your son and all the fun you can have together. It will relax him and you. Keep us posted!

Day 73 Week 10
As we grow in Christ, we find that the fruits of the Holy Spirit increase in us. Our perspective on events changes, and we are able to see in each circumstance a glimpse of the joy that comes from the presence of God.
Message Bible: Habakkuk 3:18 "I'm singing joyful praise to God. I'm turning cartwheels of joy to my Savior God."

She was released today from the hospital and is glad to be out. She is still in some pain but she feels 80%. We are heading back home tomorrow and will take it slow and take 2 nights to get home. She says it is more comfortable sitting so we should be okay. Thank you everybody for your prayers and thoughts.

Day 74 Week 10
You can find joy in the midst of brokenness. One of the hardest times to be joyful is when you're dealing with multiple problems - seeking solutions but finding none - and then several new difficulties beset you. If you focus too much on finding solutions, you will sink under the weight of your problems. So it's vital to remember that God is present with you in adversity. He is at work in your situation, and His matchless wisdom enables Him to bring god out of evil - ultimately outsmarting evil with good. He enables you to be joyful in the midst of brokenness by staying connected to Him. Need a simple prayer for it? Easy. "Jesus, help me find You in the midst of this mess."
Message Bible: James 1:2-3 "Consider it a sheer gift, friends, when tests and challenges come at you from all sides. 3 You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colors."

Day 75 Week 11
Week Eleven finds only one team left standing in the undefeated/untied perfect category. The Twice Champ Cubs (99.5) facing a late night sister kiss from the surprising Royals (72) squeaked by with one more R and one more HR (three ties!) to hang an Oh-so-close "L" on KC. There were squeakers all over the league! The Squeaker Giants (77.5), squeaked again, this time knocking the Mighty Mets (105) out of first, handing them their first "L" if the season with a single Sv and (.034) in Whip. With that lost the Powerful Padres latched onto a tie for 2nd with their 8th straight but only after surviving a serious sweat/squeak from the Are-you-kidding-me? Braves (48.5) by a single SB and .029 in OPS. All three contests get the Oh-the-Humanity! treatment. The Astros (83.5) kept pace with the Giants with their 3rd straight and are both locked in a tie for 4th place as the White Sox (87) lost yet another squeaker to the Yankees (70.5) with a (.13) in K9 and a single W/QS and slipped into sixth place. OTH! Four squeaker wins in the same week is positively deafening. Half-game behind in seventh we find the Mariners (76.5) who won, hoping over the Cardinals (78) in 8th place with a three way tie for final 11th place slot: Athletics (81.5) who creamed my pitiful Red Sox (37.5), the Diamondbacks (70) who won back-to-back and the previously lamented Royals. What's that I hear? "Break up the Rockies (64)!?" winners of 4 in a row. The slow start is apparently far in the rear-view mirror! In other bottom feeder news, the Orioles won their first with yet another squeaker (that makes an unheard of 5!). Stat leaders for week 10: HRs - Padres (16) Runs - Athletics (44) RBIs - White Sox (48) SB's - Mariners (7) AVG - Braves (.290) "Ks" - Mariners (81) ERA - Braves (2.13) WHIP Rockies - (0.956) W+QS - Red Sox (11) SVh - Padres - (9). Key matchups for next week: Giants/Rockies: Can the Rockies continue their roll against some very stiff competition. Mariners/Padres If the Mariners are for real here's the test? The Padres squeaked by last week. Are they vulnerable. And of course, the long awaited 9-1 Mighty Mets looking for some revenge squaring off against the 1 - 9 bumbling Bosox. If I'm going to have any chance at success, I'm going to have to bring my A+ game and the Mets need to bring their D-. It could happen! It would be a gift. Success is the focus for the week.
Message Bible: Ecclesiastes 5:19 "Yes, we should make the most of what God gives, both the bounty and the capacity to enjoy it, accepting what's given and delighting in the work. It's God's gift!"

Day 76 Week 11
Success means different things to different people. Yet there are basic characteristics that can be identified. Success is utilizing every day to the fullest, not putting off for tomorrow what can be done today.
Message Bible: Psalms 1:1-3 "How well God must like you - you don't hang out at Sin Saloon, you don't slink along Dead-End Road, you don't go to Smart-Mouth College. 2 Instead you thrill to God's Word, you chew on Scripture day and night. 3 You're a tree replanted in Eden, bearing fresh fruit every month, Never dropping a leaf, always in blossom."

Day 77 Week 11
Success is knowing your limitations and seeing them as challenges, not as stumbling blocks. Want success? Please God. It is a wise investment - not only for rewards in heaven but also for daily success here on earth.
Message Bible: Psalms 112: 1-3 "Hallelujah! Blessed man, blessed woman, who fear God, Who cherish and relish his commandments,
2 Their children robust on the earth, And the homes of the upright - how blessed!
3 Their houses brim with wealth and a generosity that never runs dry."

Day 78 Week 11
God has given different gifts to different people, and He expects me to do my best with what He has provided. Don't hold back; give it your all each and every day and success will follow.
Message Bible: Ecclesiastes 3:13 "That's it - eat, drink, and make the most of your job. It's God's gift."

Day 79 Week 11
Your limitations should inspire you to give more of yourself, to do more than just the bare minimum.
Message Bible: Isaiah 65: 22-23 "For my people will be as long-lived as trees, my chosen ones will have satisfaction in their work. 23 They won't work and have nothing come of it, they won't have children snatched out from under them. For they themselves are plantings blessed by God, with their children and grandchildren likewise God-blessed."

Day 80 Week 11
Success requires hard work. There are no shortcuts. Do the work, harvest the rewards. Success comes when you place God first in your life. Everyday in everyway. Don't wait. First thing in the morning. Praise Him!
Message Bible: Joshua 1:8 "And don't for a minute let this Book of The Revelation be out of mind. Ponder and meditate on it day and night, making sure you practice everything written in it. Then you'll get where you're going; then you'll succeed."

Day 81 Week 11
Living to please God is the wisest of investments. Not only for the rewards here on earth but our ultimate reward in heaven. No matter how dark and difficult you day may seem, the Light of His Presence will shine through the darkness as you worship Him. This glorifies Him and enables you to live above your circumstances, successfully.
Message Bible: Revelation 5:11-12 "I looked again. I heard a company of Angels around the Throne, the Animals, and the Elders - ten thousand times ten thousand their number, thousand after thousand after thousands. 12 in full song: The slain Lamb is worthy! Take the power, the wealth, the wisdom, the strength! Take the honor, the glory, the blessing!"
