Alright alright alright... soooo.... American League West...
A division I just moved out of and still get poked fun at because of how challenging the division is. (I swear to god I am a real life Yankees fan that lives in NY)
The American League West might be the most challenging division in our league.
Lets dive into the teams a little bit...
Chicago White Sox- Notable Hitters- Pete Alonso, Luis Robert, Giancarlo Stanton. Notable Pitchers- too damn many for me too type. CWS has some of the best SP in the league, Dylan Cease, Shane Bieber, Luis Castillo, Marcus Stroman, Brady Singer... it keeps going for SP... and the bullpen is solid as well projecting 30 saves and 100 sv+hold
CWS is a good team that will need to rely on his powerful and valuable pitching to carry him through the season. His hitting won't win every week and he will need to rely on just winning a couple of categories if his pitching can carry him.
Houston Astros- from the outside looking in it seems as though the astros is somewhere in the middle of a rebuild... 17 mil in remaining cap and looking at 80 next season. definitely look at astros getting some of the availble free agents to bulster his team. Make some trades as well over the next season or 2. He has good prospects and the signing of Kodai Senga was amazing for him rebuilding. Walker Buehler being off this year really hurt him... but he could be a real contender in 2024.
Kansas City Royals- They have put together a really well rounded roster... both pitching and hitting. His one issue might be 3B... that is the only thing. Spencer Strider, Brandon Woodruff and 4 closers... Solid. Royals spent his money on Catcher with JT Realmuto... and he is still slotted to be the #1 Catcher this season. Bryan Reynolds, Corey Seager, Matt Olson... Reyonolds is the true definition of a 5 tool player and the other 2 might respectively lead their position at HR.
Oakland Athletics- it would definitely be brave to say that Athletics is best in the division, but these were the incentives he won this year.
Wildcard Winner-AL Champion-NL Cy Young-AL Cy Young
on top of all of this he has 4 closers. He really has a great roster. There are many great names on this list so I won't go in depth... just look at the AL champion
Seattle Mariners- Mariners is vetting out which players he wants to keep moving forward. his team is going to get AB and scatter the categories, but his pitching is soley SP. His pitching will have good weeks and bad weeks and can beat a lot of teams. Mariners real downfall is sharing the division with these other teams.
