New York Yankees receive:
MLB Zach Wheeler (SP/PHL) MILB Shea Langliers (C/ATL)
Texas Rangers receive:
MILB Hunter Bishop (OF/SF)
I had a dilemma with Springer and Wheeler: both facing UFA status at the end of the season, and me sitting here, with other players who will have contracts/arbitrations coming due. There was no way I would be able to compete in the FA market for either of them, if the 2020 bidding season was an indication of what to expect in 2021.
I wanted to get this out of the way before the season started, while I thought I could get decent returns. Only time will tell if things work out for me.
Thank you Mr. Yankee for getting this done so quickly, and good luck in 2020.

I accept. I lost Sevy already and traded Quintana so Wheeler will be a welcomed addition this year. I probably won’t be able to resign him either next year but I’m hopefully going to compete this year and then reevaluate next year. I have OF depth in the minors and young rostered OF. Bishop has insane power upside imo but hopefully Langliers can continue to make offensive strides and be a solid C for me in the future. Thanks to Texas for trade talks. Good luck to you as well
