I accept the trade above. After posting J. Votto, Stu inquired that he was in need of a 1st baseman. So instead of doing a complete salary drop we ended up checking some boxes for our squads. I can afford to lose Votto at 1st as it's a position of depth on my team. Losing a closer like Will Smith with a friendly contract will bite me in the pitching category along with Logan Webb being penciled in as a #3 pitcher in an arm friendly yard. Pardinho is probably going to land on the scene and be a front end starter for years as well... but getting Bryan Reynolds w/ years left softens these blows enough to take a chance. Like Stu said in conversation, I think this trade also frees up a couple spots for my roster coming up. Thanks for the trade and best of luck with the cast in return.

I never compete but this year I'm all in, even if it means giving up a solid productive OF on a long term team friendly contract. Jeremy & I throw out a lot of names and different combinations and he accepted the above offer from me. This trade was easier to complete with the money Jeremy tossed in. I like Votto and in the new CIN lineup hopefully he returns to his old ways; if nothing else he fills a position of need for me. I like W. Smith in ATL so hopefully he settles in even if it's just one season for me. I'm banking on the development of L. Webb in SF. They obviously need someone to carry that staff right? Pardinho and the draft pick is something that will help me out in the future if all else fails.
