MLB Auctions

All undrafted players become free agents.
During the season, if you want to pick up a player that is over the rookie limit you have to bid for him.

1. Starting on January 2, 2023, auctions will be opened.
2. Minimum bid is $500K per year.
3. Pitchers and catchers will be made available for bidding on week 1.  Infielders will be made available on week 2.  And Outfielders will be made available on week 3.  You can still bid for pitchers on week 2 and everybody on week 3.  
4. The most years you can bid is 3 years plus an option.  You have unlimited options.
5. The total contract value means the total amount of the contract.  For example, 3 years at $1M is total value of $3M.
6. The highest total value be the higher bid.  1 year at $10M will beat a 3 year at $3M contract.  
7. The minimum bid increase is $100K total contract value.  Starting on the 6th bid, the minimum is $500K total contract value. Starting on the 11th bid, the minimum is $1M total contract value.
8. If you are eligible for a discount, please post the regular bid price and then your discounted price (20%) Please round so we don't have random $3,031,203 contracts.  
8. Bids will stand for 12 hours.
10. You have 24 hours after winning the bid to make room on your roster.  If you don't make room, the player will go to the previous bidder at their bid.  
11. You must have salary cap room at the time you make the bid. If you don't, the bid will be invalid. 
12. You are responsible for adding the player on Fantrax as soon as possible after winning the player.  I will only add the player to the Google Drive.

Just wanted to remind everyone of the new rules for this year. On January 2nd, we will open bidding for pitchers and catchers. On January 10th, we will open bidding for Infielders. And on January 17th, we will open bidding on Outfielders. You can still bid for pitchers in weeks 2 and 3. For players that have multiple positions, like infield and outfield, please use what they had more games at in 2022. You might have to post a player that is not already on there if you do not see them listed.

Bids will stand for 12 hours before you win them. Please make sure you have the cap space when you post a bid. You have 24 hours after winning the bid to make the move on Fantrax and making sure you have roster spots available. If you go over on salary, the bid will be deleted.

Ohtani will be listed under pitcher. So he will be available to bid on week 1.

We base the contract on total value. A 1YR/$10M deal beats out a 3YR/$3M deal ($9M). After the 6th bid, the yearly value will have to increase by $500K per bid. (Bid 6: 3 years at $6M. Bid 7: 3 years at $6.5M. After the 10th bid, it will go up to $1M. (Bid 10: 3 years at $10M. Bid 11: 3 years at $11M).

Please post the bids close to that format. Years and an option if you want and then yearly salary. For example: 3+ @ $3M will be fine.

If you are eligible for a 20% discount. Please post that discount and what it is on every bid. This will help us when we process the moves on the spreadsheet so you can get your discount. Please use this format. 3+ @ $10M ($8M). The $10M will be what the next bidder will have to beat. You can round to the nearest 100th. So you can use $5.650.000 for the discount.
