I don't know what you guys think or if it's ever been talked before but it would be nice to expand it to 50

Not a fan of that , we already expanded it by 5 by adding a low minors , my personal feelings are expansion weakens the minors player pool

Per my other thread... I'd be a fan of expanding the mlb rosters like the real life 40 man roster (not up to 40 players) but to help with tj/suspended/steroid/etc guys. I won't rehash the same points but this too would allow more milb space
50 seems like a high number. I've found jd hammer, Chad sobotka, Framber Valdez, Emilio pagan, Dan Vogelbach, Joe Ryan, etc on the waiver this year. I'd assume none of those types would be available if the number of roster spaces spiked too much higher

Yeah, expanding that would make the pool thinner. I would be interested to see how a 40 man roster would work in this league. If someone has any ideas on how they would like it to look like please share. Like if it is real life, if you want to call someone up you have to put them on the 40 man roster. If you don't have room on your 40 man roster you have to clear a spot by putting someone on waivers so they can claim. You can't just take them out off the 40 man roster once they are on. We can also set something up like you have to promote a prospect to the 40 man roster within 2 years or something like that or they will be put in the draft.

I would not be opposed to expanding the mlb roster by 3 spots , mainly to help with the constant revolving dl door , where I feel our rosters struggle is when 3 or four guys hit the dL it’s a scramble to the bid thread to fill a spot. The 2 weeks later u have to demote or cut or waive to make room for a returning player only to do it all over again a week later ..... look at the Red Sox revolving dl door this year , I mean anyone who rosters A J pollock should get a free roster spot anyways the way that guy uses the dL ,
All kidding aside I think this league is more of a make a couple tweaks kinda league , not a make big changes kinda league ...... I am in several of these things and this is by far the best one , and I feel like keeping the rosters smaller has really helped as Oakland pointed out above , by making the free agent pool a lil more interesting

I agree. It is tough when we have the revolving door with the DL. Even the Rangers had a revolving door with the DL. I guess that is another part of team management though. I try to replace a player that is Dev Roster eligible so I can demote them. Increasing our active player roster will only thin out the free agent pool.

The 40 man MLB roster is a nice idea where you can have up to 40 for your MLB roster but you can only play 25 of them from M-S each week. The only way you can place a new player into your weekly 25 man roster is a DL move where the injured player is removed and is supplemented by one of your other players listed on the 40 man roster. This idea would somewhat remove the idea of FA when a player or six gets injured and the time involved when attempting to open an auction and win an available player. Now granted the FA pool is thinned out even more than it currently is but it solves an issue or two.
Concerning the salary of players 26-40 we as a league would have to agree to an increase of the budget to allow for the extra players. This shouldn't be all that difficult when you factor in the issue of winning a FA bid or three and a few weeks later you have to drop a player and take on a penalty. I played in two leagues like this and it was quite productive.

Adding 15 players to each team would really thin out the league in my opinion. I would think the 5 development players would count towards the 40 man roster.
Another idea, and I am just spitballing, but to remove the max AB and IP limit of the development roster and you can put any player there. Those players would count towards your salary. But the catch would be once you promote a player from your MiLB you would only be able to demote them to the Dev Roster after that. Since they would be on your "30 Man Roster". This would not add any more players to your roster. You would just be able to "stash" veterans since there would be no max.
