Please vote. This is what the standings would look like if we would have done divisions this year. Also, please comment if we should go by real life NL/AL teams or determine standings by 2018 regular standings. Top 4 teams would be in 4 different divisions.
NL West Padres 17-2-1 Rockies 12-7-1 Dodgers 11-8-1 Giants 9-10-1 Diamondbacks 4-13-3
NL East Cardinals 14-4-2 Cubs 13-6-1 Marlins 11-7-2 Braves 10-10-0 Mets 0-19-1
AL West Rangers 14-5-1 Royals 9-10-1 Astros 8-12-0 Athletics 7-13-0 Mariners 4-15-1
AL East Rays 15-5-0 Red Sox 10-7-3 Yankees 11-8-1 White Sox 7-11-2 Orioles 3-17-0
NL West Padres 17-2-1 Rockies 12-7-1 Dodgers 11-8-1 Giants 9-10-1 Diamondbacks 4-13-3

With the schedule, we could just have everybody play each other once. There are 20 weeks in a season. We could set it up to have everybody play everybody once. Or we can have the teams play their division twice, the other division once and 5 random teams in the other league. And let Fantrax decide on the schedule.

Who would qualify as Wildcards in each scenario?

With the divisions, if we have 8 teams we would do the 4 division winners with 2 wild cards in each league.
Choices if we do 4 divisions A) 2 best teams in each league that are not division winners be the wild card winners. NL winner would play AL winner in world series. B) the 2nd place team in each division be the wild card. C) Have more teams make the playoffs and have division winners get a bye week.
Choices if we do 2 leagues A) Take the best 4 teams in each league. 1 would play 4 and 2 would play 3. AL winner would play NL winner in world series. B) We could figure out more teams to make the playoffs and have the division/league winner get a bye week in the first round.

OK, then with the 4 division set-up, top 2 non-title winners in each league make the playoffs, regardless of division. OK, got it.

It was mentioned above: Top 4 teams would be in 4 different divisions.
My question is would the bottom 4 teams of last years standings be in 4 different divisions as well?

Yes, One division would have 1, 6, 11, 16 and the 2nd division would be 2, 7, 12, 17.
