When you make a decision to place the Restricted Free Agent tag on a player, please make a new post for that player. Make a new post like you would do for a regular MLB auction. You have to start your own bid on the player if you choose to put a Restricted Free Agent tag on them. The bids will stand for 12 hours and we will follow all MLB Auction rules with the increment bids and use total value of contract.
The winning bid will determine the value of the player's contract and years. The original team will have a choice to keep the player at the new contract or give them to the winning bid team. If the player goes to the winning bid team, the original team will get the following compensation depending on the yearly contract value. The picks will be for the following year 1st year player draft.
Less than $4M = No compensation $4.1 - $6 = 3rd round supplemental pick $6.1 - $9.5 = 2nd round supplemental pick $9.6 plus = 1st round supplemental pick

This can be for any player that is a real life free agent on your team, or arbitration eligible players. Once you post the player, you actually won't bid again and hope the auction stays lower. Once the final bid stands for 12 hours, the original team will have 48 hours to determine to keep the player at that new contract or allow him to go to the team with the highest bid.

Correct me if I am wrong, so we can place a player as a RAF and that player would be removed from the ML for now but remain tied to that team?? My reason for asking is I would like to post a player or two in order to open a MLB roster spot.

But once the spreadsheet opens up, you would put the bid in and it would be yours in 12 hours if nobody bids.

Could you explain a little more which players we can put the RFA tag on? You can put Arbitration eligible players and real life free agents on RFA. The players you can NOT put a RFA on is option players and players that are UFA from auctions.
