2020 Player Options
Here is where you post your decions for:
- Player options
- Restricted Franchise Tag
- Arbitration Decisions
- Decline/Accept new contracts
- Qualifying Offers
You can decide if you keep the player or drop the player. As this is an option you do not pay anything for declining an option. You can start making the decisions after the 2016 regular season.
Decisions have to be made by March 15, 2020
All players left undecided will be released and put into free agency. Exception: If the player does not have a real life contract you will be granted an extension until he does.
Please follow the following steps:
1. Take your time deciding.
2. Post your decision.
3. Do not delete or edit the post. Once you made a decision you can not change it.
4. If you accept a contract and then trade the player, that player is accepted and the new manager that received the player CAN decide to accept or decline him. If you trade the player before accepting the player, the new manager that received the player will be able to make a decision. And that new owner will be eligible for the discount or compensation pick. (Revised)
Here is the following choices and rules.
Restricted Franchise Tag (New addition)
You can place a Restricted Franchise Tag on a Free Agent or Arbitration Eligible player. You will put them in the Restricted Free Agent auction. The winning bid will be the new contract of the player. The owner will have the following choices.
1) The original team will have a choice to accept the new contract and keep the player.
2) The winning team gets the player with the new contract. The original team gets compensation depending on the contract value per year.
MLB Free Agents (FA in MLML)
1) You can either accept the new real life contract or you can decline it.
2) If you accept it, you take the contract for whatever the player signed for in real life. You will have the same option years as the contract as well.
3) If you decline it, the player will be placed in auctions. If you win the player in auction, you will receive a 20% discount on the contract. If you do not win the player back, and the player is rated in the top 50 in Yahoo, you will receive a compensation pick in the 2017 new player draft.
4) You can offer the player a Qualifying Offer. The player will get a 1 year contract at $12M. After the one year deal the player will be a UFA and will automatically be in auction the next off-season.
Arbitration Players (Orange in MLML)
1) You can either accept the new arbitration salary that is agreed upon in real life or you can decline it.
2) Same rules apply for accepting it or declining it. You still would get the 20% discount if you win the player back. If not you would get the compensation pick if the player is eligible.
3) You can offer the player a Qualifying Offer. The player will get a 1 year contract at $12M. After the one year deal the player will be a UFA and will automatically be in auction the next off-season.
4) You can offer the player a Qualifying Offer. The player will get a 1 year contract at $12M. After the one year deal the player will be a UFA and will automatically be in auction the next off-season.
Option Year Players (Blue in MLML)
