Washington Nationals receive:
MLB Cole Hamels (SP/TEX) MLB Chris Owings (UTIL/ARZ) CAP $22,500,000 for 2017 CAP $14,000,000 for 2018
Texas Rangers receive:
MLB Addison Russell (SS/CHC) MILB 3rd Round Draft Pick
A lot of reasons behind this transaction. I believe Russell has a lot of "Upside" at 23 years old, and I somehow feel I will need a roster spot this year at some point...

With all my injuries to pitching I need another pitcher and Hamels for free the rest of this year and for 8.5M next year seems like a sweet deal. I also get Chris Owings who is doing better then Russell this year who is just rotting on my bench currently.
