I have a idea and I just want to throw it out there to see if anyone agrees. If not, we don't have to do it. But I was thinking we could do a Waiver wire for MLB players you want to drop. So the new idea is if you want to drop a MLB player (normally you pay half of the salary for the remaining years in the contract) you put him on MLB Waivers for 24 hours. Other teams can place a claim for that player. We will make a waiver wire order based on reverse standings. The team with the highest waiver order will be awarded the player and take on the original contract. The team that originally had the player will pay NO penalty for the player. It will not be a trade or anything to work out. The new team will just simply get him for nothing but pay the remaining existing contract. If there are no claims on the player after 24 hours the original team will have to pay the 50% penalty and the player will be a regular FA and will have to be bid on.
For example: Atlanta just dropped Anibel Sanchez. He had a 1 year plus option year of $700K remaining. If you decided to claim him you would get that same contract. If you really like that player you wouldn't have to try to bid on him in auction and if he has a good contract you could still get the good contract.
Feel free to give your opinion on it to see if this is a good idea or not.

It looks we we all thought it was a great idea. But it looks like we never carried through on it. And that is on me and I apologize. It looks like we had some question marks on the first proposal. But this new one sounds a lot better and it looks like we agreed on it before toward the end of the conversation about more of a straight forward like this. You waive him for 24 hours and if he doesn't clear you pay 50% am did if he does you don't pay anything. Once you put a player on waivers you can not pull him back he is officially off your team.

I think we should have it separate from the Transaction threat to make it more clean. We should do it like we do on auctions where you post the player that you want to put on waivers. If teams want to put a claim on them they will post claim. And then after 24 hours it will be processed. I think if we combine it allot will just be a mess.

I have no problem running it but if anyone wants the responsibility to run the waiver wire feel free to contact me. I know someone said before that they were told they don't need to help but I would like to offer it.

I could also do it, but I think it would be cool to allow for someone else who wants to get involved to have a chance with this. Maybe someone who isn't doing any other league related activities right now but would like to do so

Yeah I think that's a good idea. I'm good with it as long as everyone else is good with it. And again, once you put the player on waivers you can replace him right away since you can't pull him back. So the time really wouldn't matter.
