With Casilla sucking and gone from my team I needed another closer, Rodriguez gives me that option at a 3.5M price tag with the 4M I get back. It is a possibility he goes to a team where he isn't needed as a closer so I asked for money to cover his contract. If he isn't a closer he will still help me in S+H.

I intended on declining the contract of the 35 year old Rodriguez and using that money and cleared roster space for a different need on my team. So instead I clear 3.5M for this year and get much needed cash for next year.
