For players that are marked FA in the MLML, managers have to make contract decisions.
The following players are eligible for the Auctions starting on January 2, 2018.  If you win the player back in auction you will get a 20% discount.

Yep. The one Hannes made that might be FA players. I will try to create a thread of the decline/accept players like other years.

I've noticed a little overbidding at times, I'm not calling anyone out, but I was just wondering where we stand on this that Bryan posted under the MLB Player Auction thread on Oct 21, 2016 at 6:29pm?

4. Teams must have cap room for all years of contract to bid on a player. Example: Team has $10M available in 2017 and $2M available in 2018. Team can not post a bid for more than $2M for 2018 until they make cap room. The bid would be invalid and the previous bidder will be the winning bid.

I'm not sure about a timeline and I don't have a specific example Josh but I remember something about having a 24 hour period after winning a FA to make a corresponding move to get under budget. If by chance the winning team doesn't make the proper move(s) then the next highest bid is awarded that player.

I believe, though I could be wrong, teams did not want to drop players before winning a FA just in case they did not win that FA.     If they lost out then then would have dropped a player for no reason.

I thought that was for a corresponding roster move to make room on a roster and no so much having to drop a player to get underneath the cap

You are right Josh. It was 24 hours to make a roster space on your roster. I will start enforcing it cause I have been relaxed with it cause we never really had problems. But it’s not a good precedent to set and we are setting ourselves up for a mess. And it’s not fair to the teams that have cap space.
