Hannes and I would like to announce that beginning of the off-season we will add a Low Minors to our MLML. These 5 spots will be only for draft pick acquisitions during the draft. Also for the players that are not drafted you can add those players after the draft if you have open spots on the 5 Low Minors Roster. So if you only have 3 picks in this year's draft, you can fill the 2 remaining spots with undrafted players. Once you promote the players to either the regular MiLB, Dev Roster, or MLB you can not demote them back to the Low Minor Roster. These roster spots will be locked and you can only promote these players. You can not demote the players back to the Low Minor Roster.

So in theory each team will be able to have 5 extra prospects then right?

The 5 extra prospects would be the players that are eligible in this year's draft only. Teams that have less than 5 picks can fill the Low Minors roster after the draft with the undrafted players.

So later on, lets just say in JAN, when teams start making moves then teams can p/u FA's from this draftee class right? The 2016 FYPD correct. So as you say above we might start at: -- low level minors -- promote to MILB roster -- then promote to DEV Roster or MLB roster
However when demoting within the system above, we cannot demote any prospect to the low level minor level correct??

That is correct. So they will not be your normal MiLB roster. And maybe if managers think it's a good idea to have a limit of how long you can keep them in the low minors. Like if we did a year or something. Like Nov 1, 2017 you either promote your players in Low Minors or you drop them.

In my other league we have the rule that the Low Minor Roster has to be empty by the beginning of the draft. Even if you do not own any picks. So next year (2017) draft there are no Low Minor Players allowed. They have to be promoted by then.

So it's a place to stash the recent draftees until that team promotes them. However a team cannot demote any player down to the low level minors right? If I remember right I think there was something mentioned in the original set of rules about expanding prospects.
I agree with this new idea.

That sounds like a great idea. And it gives the managers another choice where they can follow them throughout next season and see how they are doing and they can decide if they want to keep them or drop them.

Also, we need to make a clear cut whi is eligible to be drafted. Or did we decide on this earlier? If we did I'm sorry.

I simply believe any player "drafted" in this year FYPD should be eligible in our leagues draft. I said drafted and not necessarily "signed." Now in our league if you roll the dice on unsigned player then by all means take the risk. Come the next draft you would have to promote him to your MILB roster.

That's a good point. So what about international players? Should we do a IFA auction for all international players?

Well, the league has done INT FA auctions twice now I believe. I don't think it would be fair to stop this since NYY did pay quite a bit on Moncada and Tomas two OCTs ago. It wouldn't be right to switch the INT FA auction and incorporate it into the FYPD .

Or make a small stipulation that each team is allowed to have one Low Level roster spot that allows them not to promote a player. For example a HS player who is drafted in real life but doesn't sign a MLB contract. So if someone in our league wants to take a chance on a HS player bound to college then let them do it. If nothing else it would make the 5th round far more interesting for some teams. Just remember that HS player headed off to college is not eligible for the FYPD for three years. So if someone in our league decides to draft an unsigned HS player now then they would have to carry that prospect for a long time which means that prospect would occupy the yearly reserved Low Level roster spot from year to year.

I meant about the IFA is the 16 and 17 year old players. Wasn't there a thing where some are available to be drafted and some aren't?

No, I don't want Low Minors to be a spot for players that ended up not being signed. We will def keep the eligibility for our draft upon player who got drafted and signed with an MLB organization.
I think IFAs should be held the way we decided back this year. Over 18 they will be auction. Under 18 they are draft eligible.
