Post-draft player Auction
ALL UNDRAFTED PLAYERS BECOME FREE AGENTS AFTER THE DRAFT!
This ensures that no fantasy relevant players are left out because of their contract situation.
During the season, if you want to pick up a player you have to bid for him too.
1. Until March 5th all teams can pick up players with their MLB contract only.
2. Penalties will be accessed for not being cap compliant.
3. March 5th we start auctioning.
3.1. Public Bidding where a GM opens a thread with the player and the first bid.
3.2. First bid (of yearly salary) has to be minimum of $500K.
3.3 There minimum bid increasement is $100K total value. The 6th bid has to be a minimum increment of $500K total value. The 11th bid has to be minimum $1M increments total value. There is no maximum bid increments.
3.4. Mistakes will be invalid bids. If the bid is invalid cause of not enough value or anything else the bid will be invalid and will not count. Please make sure you bid correctly.
3.5. Bid has to stand for 12h. Then the thread will be closed and the auction is over.
3.6. Overbidding is not allowed and can happen in two ways:
- If a bid takes your team above the cap
- You have too many bids open that can put your team above the cap
3.7. Offense to overbidding:
- First time: deletion of bid
- Second time: deletion of all bids
- Third time: suspension of team for bidding for 1 week
3.8. You must fill your entire team to a minimum of 20 players (maximum 25 players) to ensure competitive balance. The date to have your roster filled will be Opening Day 2015, Monday April 6th 2015.
3.9. Please post bids in this fashion (or some similar format): ##.# (cost), # years+(years). Bids are only made to the hundreth place and no further (##.#).
3.10. Maximum contract is 3 years at most.
3.11. Backloading of contracts is not allowed. You have to evenly split your money on the contract years.
3.11. Options can be added to players by placing a "+" after the years. This means that at the end of the contract, if the player has an option, the owner can decide to keep that player for one more season or let him go. You can only give a player an option for one year. You are allowed to offer 3 years and add an option for a 4th year.
During the season:
If you want to pick up a player you have to bid on him too. You have to open another bid in ProBoards and the pick again hast to stand for 12h.
