I see that 50% voted to have the players, owners bidding, and bid amounts "revealed". OK, then what? More bids?

I actually don't understand why there should be cheaper contracts for free agents at all; but that is just my humble opinion If I would decide then people would have to pick up the real-life contracts. The waiver list would simply decide who gets the player or some other mechanism of chance. In any case, since we are not doing it that way. I agree we should only post a few players to be bid on (approx. 20-30). First two years "bidding contract", then if you want to keep the player you have to pick up the real-life contract. But would we be doing this every year? who decides which players should be on the free agent bidding list?

I think that if this way wins, the winner should be given the option to take their real life contract or drop them again at the end of their 2 year deal with said user.

We will have to bid on the players that will be free agents in the 2015 offseason.

I thought we were able to keep said players if we already drafted them and want to pay their new salary. I was under the assumption that no matter what who we draft in this draft is ours till we don't want to pay them anymore. Is that true? Plus, I just see this becoming an issue with dealing with people trying to up the prices on guys they don't even want because they want you to spend your money so you can't go after anyone else. Just putting in my two cents, that is why I think blind bidding will help people get who they want at a reasonable price without drama.

You can keep who ever you want at the real life salary. These are the players that are undrafted and players that are released by the teams.

I have brought this up a few times already, and have never gotten a answer:
Team "A" bids 3 years/$5mm per year - total value $15mm for life of contract.
Team "B" bids 2 years/$7.5mm per year - total value $15mm for life of contract.
My suggestion, for the 3rd time, is that if we are going to bid "every year" on players we should have a standard that every one of these contracts is 2 years (No exceptions) with the tie breaker this year being the team with the worse MLB draft position, and in future years the tie-breaker being the worst position in the standings.
You guys keep talking about bidding, but no one knows the rules.

We all said that was a good idea about the first 2 years being bid on and on the 3rd year you have a choice to keep the player at real life contract or release him.

Yes, I agree. But, the League Members do not have any clarity on what is happening. If I were to ask every one of the members how the process works, I'm pretty sure I would get a whole bunch of different answers.

We haven't really announced it yet. Just trying to figure out how the bidding is going to work and then we will announce it and put it in the rules.

Here's my take on this. I understand we can bid on the international players once and if they sign by March 5; for me this makes total sense. At the moment, I can really careless if we have a public or private bidding process for the international players.
My issue is with the undrafted MLB FA's. I truly believe if you want a player during the current draft or after the draft then you must pay that player's full contract salary. If you want a particular player then select, claim, or p/u the player and pay his full amount. There should be no bidding at all when it comes to undrafted MLB players.
I see flaws with both sides of this poll about blind and public bidding and that's why I have not voted on it. As for me, and I'm only speaking for myself here, I really don't see a logical argument concerning this issue when it comes down to MLB undrafted players.

Maybe we should just draft who we want, wait for new contract, pay it or drop them and just wait on waiver system to pick up free agents. That is how MLB has to do it. That way salaries are never different from what MLB is saying it is.

So say i draft Max Scherzer and I find out he's making too much money for me so I drop him. What way is the fair way for someone to pick them up? Shouldn't be first come first serve cause you have managers that can check on here more than others in a day. Say there is 5 great free agents available how do we determine a fair way on how to get them?
