MiLB Roster Moves
August 2016
Please clearly state what you are doing with which player and add the date of the transaction.
Dropping, Adding, Promoting or Demoting.
Please also post why you made this move (e.g. open spot because of a trade or call up etc.)

Promote Hunter Renfroe OF/SD Promote Aaron Judge OF/NYY Demote Joey Gallo to DEV-Roster Drop Ben Gamel OF/NYY Add Joan Gregorio SP/SF Add Chance Adams SP/NYY Add Rony Garcia SP/NYY J. Gallo has a total of 123 MLB ABs. He's still considered a MILB prospect. However, just my opinion here but he is withing 10 ABS for eligibility so I think it's okay. Sometime last season I suggested a window of 10 ABs or 5 IP for prospects moving onto the DEV Roster. I think this off season we should have this discussion again. It makes sense to have a window to allow owners some flexibility with the DEV Roster. |

I think we should drop the required minimum of the Dev Roster all together, so we dont have to stress out over guys who are approaching the MiLB thresholds. We can just promote them early and protect them. |

We have been discussing and working on a window for the limits. Right now you have 24 hours to make a roster move to promote a MiLB before someone can steal them. The proposed rule would be a 10 IP or a decided on number window either way. You would have until that window to make the move. I would like to see the average window be about 3-5 days on average to make a move. Or maybe even a week.
Like right now..a RP might be 119.2 IP and he doesn't pitch for a week we shouldn't have to look every single day to make sure he pitched so we can quickly make a roster move. This would be discussed in the new rules at the end of this season and will be voted on for next season.
As for removing the limit, I don't think we can do that cause that would just let someone stock up on more prospects or why even have the Dev Roster then. I think the window will work out best.

Don't think the window should be AB/IP limits. I think it should stick with time. My suggestion would be no longer than 72 hours. That should be plenty of time because teams should already have an idea of what there prospects stand at. Just my input.

I personally think that a time frame can lead to problems. So I would def prefer the option that a player that is within 10 AB or 5 IP can be moved to the DEV-Roster. I'll make the corresponding moves for Gallo. Thanks again for catching that. |
