How will this work in "Our" off-season? Under MLB Rules, 5 days after the World Series ends, there is no "DL", and, 40 player rosters must be set. YAHOO should be eliminating all "DL" spots, and, thus, no player should be listed on the "DL"... So, now what???

Well last year we as league allowed those players who finished the year on the DL to be carried in the off season on the DL. For example, and I might be slightly wrong here, but I carried five TJS SPs on my DL. I don't see a reason to change it this off season.

So, the "League Officials" here have "subjective" decision rights as to who qualifies as DL or not. I understood that from last year...
Place Wilmer Flores (UT/NYM) on DL
Yes, Flores never actually was placed on the DL, but, his injury status was determined 7 or so days before the end of the regular season's end. So, placing him on the 15 day DL with 7 days to go made no sense. He underwent wrist surgery, and I am no doctor, but his 2017 opening day status is up in the air.

I don't see a problem with putting players on our DL if they ended the season on the DL. Even if they are suppose to be back by opening day. Just as long as they are off the DL by the time they are back to playing.

The problem is "Stashing Players". In ESPN, you cannot make a roster move unless you take your players off the season ending DL, but, I don't know about YAHOO, considering they shut down for he entire off-season (Sucks)...

I agree with Bryan, if a player ends season on dl, they can stay. But it becomes the managers responsibility to make proper adjustments if that player isn't there come day one. Or incur penalty. I don't see why we have to have same discussion every year for something this trivial.

CWS,
It is not "Trivial"... It conflicts with the MLB Rules...

But if the player ends the season on the DL, there is no way of knowing for sure if that player will be ready for opening day. So our rules have it set up that you can keep that player on the DL for the off season.

I agree again with Bryan. In my own case, Charlie Morton ended the year on the 60 day DL. No one knows yet whether or not he will be ready by opening day. It is the manager's responsibility to maintain their lineup and make sure a player who is not on the DL is activated. There is no rule in "real MLB" that states that the player needs to be taken off DL when they are better. And in MLB, they have a 40 man roster during the offseason, we do not. So unless Bryan and Hannes decide to change it, it should remain.
