It's all okay guys. CAL, STL and other raised concerns that make total sense and I agree that it would be counter productive. I personally would just like to see the league move from MLB to our own contracts. It is happening but it will take time and thats okay. I am thankful for having great managers that help us make the right decisions. But I promise that I will never stop thinking of ways to improve. This one was a fail and I apologise. @san Fran: I like eating Taco Bell, shouldn't do that either.

I don't know that you will ever be able to move away completely from MLB contracts even if this was implemented.

I really do like how we had a discussion and nobody was disrespectful of it. That is why we have a good league right now cause we vote and have a discussion about it and get different opinions on it. Hannes, that was a great suggestion and it never hurts to bring them up. That's for anybody. That is why we vote on this stuff.
SF is right that it will take away some of the strategy. Right now the way we have it is similar to MLB real life. If you are going for it like Stu was this year, you have to accept the contract and that holds value.
If anybody has a suggestion or any other idea that would make this work with paying a percentage of the total contract remaining at one time. Like for example, you have a player that is making $30M in the next 4 years. That is $120M. You can pay 25% of that in one year and he is off the books. Just another suggestion.

Or maybe pay 50% in the year you release the player and 25% the remaining seasons?
